Airport Release

Dunfermline Arriving at Edinburgh Airport in June

Dunfermline will feature for the first time in an outdoor advertising campaign at Edinburgh Airport.

Organised by BID company, Dunfermline Delivers, the 48 sheet poster will feature The Bruce Festival (12 & 13 July) as one of the vibrant events taking place in Dunfemline.

Situated outside the Arrivals at the Airport, the giant poster will be in situ for four weeks from 16th June coinciding with The Royal Highland Show and the start of the busy summer tourist season,

Chief Executive of Dunfermline Delivers, Maggie Mitchell said: “The Bruce Festival is already well-known and popular with locals but this campaign will help us target visitors and people living within travelling distance of Dunfermline. As well as driving footfall to the Festival we believe it will raise the profile of Dunfermline and its place at the centre of Scotland’s story”.

Following on from a successful Bruce Festival Garden at Gardening Scotland, The Edinburgh Airport advert is part of a wider marketing campaign by Dunfermline Delivers that includes a ten-week advertising campaign on Kingdom FM and Central Radio, press advertising as well as PR and social media campaigns.

This year The Bruce Festival is a key event in Homecoming Scotland 2014. Dunfermline Delivers secured funding from EventScotland and Fife Council.

The weekend festival includes highlights such as jousting tournaments, medieval battles, and for the first time, children’s Highland Games as well as a food and crafts village and WW1 combat display.

The advertising was placed with JCDecaux Airport.
