Venture Street

An existing Dunfermline business could benefit to the tune of £85,000 if successful in winning the Venture Street business entrepreneur initiative.
That’s the message from BID company, Dunfermline Delivers, which is urging the town’s businesses to consider ways in which they could develop a new business idea with the support on offer by Venture Street.
Open to companies already trading, provided they operate their new venture from another location.  Retail space is provided free of charge as part of the entrepreneurial incentive programme.
Selected businesses will not only be given support and free business accommodation, they will also get the opportunity to trade throughout the busy festive period – 14thNovember until 24th December – thereby giving their business venture maximum exposure and the best possible chance of success.

A development from the successful Carnegie UK Trust TestTown project, Venture Street is a competition to find and support the business entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

The project is being organised by Dunfermline First in partnership with Fife Council Town Centre Development Unit, Carnegie Dunfermline Trust, Fife Business Gateway and several local businesses.

Venture Street, is open to any type of new business.
Maggie Mitchell explains: “We have seen the successes born from last year’s TestTown project such as Miss Pauley.  Emma has been trading for nearly a year thanks to the support and positive profile she received by being involved in the initial test project.”

Maggie added: “It is a great opportunity for members to consider ‘what else’ without taking on a huge financial risk.  It is a chance to do something new and exciting either as a natural extension of their current business or something completely different.  Existing businesses will have the advantage of knowing how to run a business already and perhaps have a loyal customer base upon which to draw upon.”
